Myths about Peels

MYTH: Peels make your skin peel away drastically.

FACT: Actual skin peeling is simply a possible side effect of a gentle peel and your skin does not visibly need to peel heavily, or at all, in order for the treatment to be effective.  Many peels are formulated to create changes, deeper, at the cellular level and results are achieved without any peeling and downtime.

MYTH: Peels leave skin feeling sore.

FACT: Mild peels are completely painless and actually pleasant to experience.

MYTH: One peel is enough.

FACT: Clinical peels are always more effective when done as part of a series of treatments. While a client is likely to see pleasing results after one treatment, it is recommended to have a short course of treatments to see optimal, long lasting results.

MYTH: Peels won’t improve the effects of ageing skin.

FACT: Peels stimulate cellular regeneration, leading to the creation of new, healthier skin cells which minimise the appearance of fine lines creating smoother skin and a healthier glow.

MYTH: Peels aren’t suitable for my sensitive skin.

FACT: There are several types of peels that are specifically formulated for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin. These formulas often include fruit acids and ingredients that help to calm inflammation associated with sensitive skin, as well as strengthen capillary walls to reduce redness.
